The purpose of this proposal is to understand how the Vibrant Health Ultimate whole-body vibration (WBV) machine affects pain and inflammation in older adults. The investigators' hypothesize that sub-acute (12 weeks) WBV will lead to improvement in the level of knee pain and improve vascular function via a decrease in systemic inflammation.
This study investigates how well individuals with knee osteoarthritis can learn to alter their calf muscle activation using haptic biofeedback while walking and evaluates how these changes affect knee loading. Prior research has utilized musculoskeletal simulations to determine that reducing the activation of one of the calf muscles, the gastrocnemius, can have a large impact on reducing knee loading. However, this has not been tested in individuals with knee osteoarthritis. In this study, participants will be trained to alter the activation of their gastrocnemius muscle, by receiving haptic feedback after each step. The feedback will indicate how the participant changed their...
Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) is a systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) medication that has been very effective in reducing lupus disease activity and keeping patients stable with reduced symptoms. Despite a track record of safety with regard to infection compared to traditional immunosuppressive agents, the risk of HCQ retinal toxicity escalates with continued use. Evaluation using sensitive standard of care approaches suggests nearly a third of patients accrue retinal damage. Data are needed to accurately weigh the balance between accumulating ocular exposure of HCQ versus the risk of disease flare in a population that may have more inactive disease than younger patients. The purpose of...
This study aims to investigate the efficacy and safety of depemokimab compared with mepolizumab in adults with relapsing or refractory EGPA receiving SoC therapy.
This is a multinational, randomized, placebo-controlled, parallel treatment, Phase 2, double-blind, 2 arm study evaluating the efficacy and safety of SAR441344 in comparison with placebo in the treatment of participants aged 18 to 70 years with active Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE). Study details include: - Study duration: 36 weeks - Treatment duration: 24 weeks - Visit frequency: every 2 weeks
This is a Phase 2b, multicenter, randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled study to assess the efficacy and safety of IMVT-1402 in adult participants with moderate to severe systemic primary Sjogren's disease (SjD).
To evaluate the efficacy of Pozelimab/Cemdisiran combination therapy in patients with sIBM
The primary purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of rexlemestrocel-L+HA compared to control in reducing low back pain at 12 months post-treatment and safety of a single injection of rexlemestrocel-L+HA injected into a lumbar intervertebral disc compared to control through 12 months post-treatment.
The purpose of this study is to compare the efficacy of intra-articular corticosteroid injections versus platelet-rich plasma injections for non-operative treatment of primary glenohumeral osteoarthritis. The efficacy of intra-articular injections, outside of hyaluronic acid, for the treatment of glenohumeral OA is not known, yet these treatments are commonly used with hopes of providing patients with symptomatic relief that can hopefully delay or prevent the need for shoulder arthroplasty. This study will help elucidate the therapeutic benefit of corticosteroid and Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injections in this patient population.
The goal of this clinical trial is to learn whether the medication ketorolac can help manage pain after hip arthroscopy as well or better than the standard opioid-based pain medications. This study focuses on adult patients (over 18 years old) undergoing hip arthroscopy at Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, Michigan. Both men and women are included, and all participants must be able to consent and communicate in English. The main questions it aims to answer are: Can ketorolac help control pain as effectively or better than opioids after hip arthroscopy? Will ketorolac use reduce the amount of opioid medication needed after surgery? Researchers will compare the group...
