This is an open label study to determine the association of the data obtained with LuGENE®, a transcriptomic-based LDT, with standard evaluation of patients diagnosed with SLE, including clinical involvement, SLEDAI score, Physician Global Assessment (PGA) and standard laboratory measures, including ANA, anti-DNA, anti-RNP and complement components C3 and C4, as well as Patient Reported Outcomes capturing pain, fatigue and Health-Related Quality of Life. The test will be administered on one occasion to patients with a clinical diagnosis of lupus or incomplete lupus and clinical and laboratory features evaluated contemporaneously. This trial includes a pilot study of...
Fibromyalgia (FM) is a chronic pain condition that disproportionately impacts Veterans. Individuals diagnosed with FM patients experience lower self-esteem and positive affect, as well as greater levels of depression, anxiety, negative affect, and pain catastrophizing. Among those experiencing FM, clinical and experimental pain are associated with specific dispositional trait profiles, which are indexed by levels of negative affect and positive affect. Neuroinflammation and inflammation also play a role in FM- related affect and pain. Recent studies that have highlighted neuroinflammation and inflammation as physiological mechanisms associated with changes in dysregulated affect...
The goal of this pragmatic randomized trial is to evaluate the effectiveness of remote Tai Chi to treat knee pain in adults with knee osteoarthritis. The main questions the trial aims to answer are: - Compared to routine care, will patients with Knee OA receiving remote Tai Chi exhibit greater improvement in knee-related pain (WOMAC pain score, primary outcome), pain interference (PROMIS-Pain Interference, secondary outcome), and health-related quality of life at 3 months? - Does remote tai chi decreases healthcare utilization and analgesic use over the one-year study period? Researchers will compare remote Tai Chi added to routine care to routine...
This prospective study will evaluate pain, swelling, ROM as well as narcotic use in post-operative total knee arthroplasty patients using novel Non-Compressive Bioactive Garment (NCBG) versus current standard of care gradient compression stocking (Thrombo-Embolic-Deterrent or TED hose). If NCBG proves to be more effective in these outcome areas, it will provide a new and comfortable way to reduce patient pain and swelling immediately following surgery
A central goal of this data repository is to collect data from a large population of subjects with a variety of renal disease states. Cohorts will include subjects with diabetes, inflammatory/autoimmune and transplant related renal conditions. Additionally, the repository will have the capacity to store biospecimens and electronic data in control subjects without established renal disease. This initiative will provide an opportunity to compare data from various disease states and controls with the objective of determining clinical and biological factors that predict disease progression, response to therapy and identify discriminating noninvasive clinical and biological features...
The Lupus Foundation of America (LFA) Research Accelerated by You (RAY) Registry is an ongoing, voluntary, longitudinal study gathers data from adults with lupus and legally authorized representatives of children with lupus to better understand diagnosis, treatment, care, and quality of life. Participants provide informed consent and complete electronic surveys every six months. The LFA uses the data to address constituent needs, share clinical research opportunities, and advance lupus research by sharing de-identified data with approved third-party investigators. The LFA will promote participation via its website and email outreach to around 200,000 people connected to lupus....
