The primary objective of this study is to obtain evidence of the effectiveness of AlloWrap Amniotic Membrane in the reduction of soft tissue swelling in two-level ACDF procedures.
This study will explore the relationship between skeletal muscle and physical activity in scoliosis patients to provide insight into both the etiology of scoliosis and potential ways to mitigate the potential harms of treatment.
The goal of this study is to determine the success rate of a single Carpometacarpal (CMC) thumb injection after arthroplasty surgery for primary osteoarthritis of the CMC joint.
The goal of this observational (Aim 1) and pilot study (Aim 2) is to better understand how depression symptoms may contribute to how well adolescent and young adults with lupus follow-up with their lupus clinical care. The main questions the overall study attempts to answer are: 1. Whether anhedonia (a core symptom of depression) predicts disengagement in care 2. Whether a patient-tailored mobile health application built to improve both engagement in care and depression symptoms will be feasible and acceptable to adolescents and young adults with lupus. Participants with systemic lupus, ages 15-24 from the Bronx, New York will be asked to complete...
This is a case series to assess the clinical utility of an Intra-articular Posteromedial Surgeon Administered (IPSA) Block in patients undergoing primary unilateral total knee arthroplasty.
The utilization of intraoperative tranexamic acid (TXA), whether administered intravenously or orally, has become a standard practice in total joint arthroplasty (TJA). Multiple studies have demonstrated the positive impact that TXA application has on clinical outcomes, including decreased blood loss and transfusion rates, decreased early swelling and ecchymosis, improved early recovery, and potentially superior long-term outcomes. Its ability to mitigate risk of blood loss made ambulatory total knee arthroplasty (TKA) safer for patients. The safety of intraoperative TXA use has also been documented. Sabbag et al. showed that TXA does not increase the risk of...
This study is a global, multi-center, prospective, non-controlled, non-randomized, post-market clinical follow-up study. The main objectives of this study are to confirm the long-term safety, performance, and clinical benefits of the G7 Dual Mobility Acetabular System when used with the Vivacit-E or Longevity polyethylene hip bearing and instrumentation in primary total and revision (total) hip arthroplasty
The main objectives of this study are to confirm the long-term safety, performance, and clinical benefits of the G7 Freedom Constrained Vivacit-E Acetabular Liners in primary and revision total hip arthroplasty.
The purpose of this study is to determine the optimal anesthetic routine for lumbar decompression surgery. General Anesthesia is the standard of care in spine surgery. Spinal anesthesia in decompressive procedures can be the new standard of care. Recently, it has been found that regional analgesia is option that has been shown to improve pain and opioid-related outcomes after spine surgery, but has not yet been studied in combination with spinal anesthesia. This is study that consists of two groups: standard of care general anesthesia with a nerve block and a spinal anesthesia with nerve block. Patients are randomized to either of the two groups. There will be 71 patients...
This study plans to implement's group coaching with neurodivergent STEM undergraduate students, individuals with spinal cord injuries and their caregivers, and individuals with Ehler's Danlos Syndrome. A trained coach will facilitate the 10 group coaching sessions using the project created coaching protocol. Assessments at pretest and posttest will include two measures addressing the concept of self-efficacy and two others addressing belonging, as well as a battery of tools estimating feasibility.
