This is a prospective, randomized, controlled, open label, parallel four-arm design, multi-center study to compare different intraoperative interventions in the prevention of acute PJI development.
The purpose of this study is to learn about the experience of women with vasculitis who become pregnant. In particular, the study will consist of several online surveys to assess 1. each woman's vasculitis severity and pregnancy-related experiences, and 2. pregnancy outcomes.
The purpose of this study is to collect existing tissue specimens from subjects enrolled in Vasculitis Clinical Research Consortium (VCRC) studies. Analysis of these tissue specimens and linked clinical data collected through VCRC studies may lead to the identification and development of a series of translational research projects. Results of these studies will provide vasculitis researchers with insight into the causes of these diseases and generate new ideas for diagnostic tests and therapies, and will be of great interest to the larger communities of researchers investigating vasculitis and other autoimmune, inflammatory, and vascular...
This study will determine whether vertebral body tethering is a safe and feasible method of treatment for pediatric idiopathic scoliosis.
Vestibulodynia (VBD) is a complex chronic vulvar pain condition that impairs the psychological, physical, and sexual health of 1 in 6 reproductive aged women in the United States. Here, the investigators plan to conduct a randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled clinical trial to 1) compare the efficacy of peripheral (lidocaine/estradiol cream), centrally-targeted (nortriptyline), and combined treatments in alleviating pain and improving patient-reported outcomes and 2) determine cytokine and microRNA biomarkers that predict treatment response in women with distinct VBD subtypes. Positive findings from this study will readily...
Veterans who have responded well to Battlefield Acupuncture (BFA), a form of auricular acupuncture, in routine clinical practice will be invited to receive education to insert the needles themselves at home. A 3D-printed wearable prosthetic will also be explored as a means to facilitate needle placement. Primary end-points will include whether adverse events occur over a six-month period and whether the aforementioned prosthesis significantly facilitates needle placement in terms of subjective ease of administration.
To evaluate the fusion status of the hindfoot bones after receiving the ViviGen graft, an FDA approved cellular bone matrix. This is used in a population indicated for hindfoot arthrodesis as an alternative to an autograft.
The purpose of this study is to determine the sensitivity of a wearable sensor to detect changes in knee joint loading using an experimental knee joint effusion as a model for a common clinical physiological alteration in joint status. The rationale for this project is that it will establish the efficacy of an inexpensive, clinically, and publicly available device that can detect changes in biomechanical loading due to acute physiologic change in joint status. The study will utilize a cross-sectional cohort study design and will seek to enroll 25 male and female healthy adult participants (18-35 yo). Participants will report to the...
This is a single-arm clinical trial to investigate wearable sensors for assessing outcomes following physical therapy in people with knee osteoarthritis.
Researchers are evaluating if cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia delivered over the internet will help with fibromyalgia symptoms.
