The purpose of this study is to allow patients to undergo surgery with the SR™ MCP (Metacarpophalangeal) Implants for finger arthritis. This is NOT a research study, but rather, a requirement by the FDA for humanitarian use of device.
This will be a multi-center, prospective, single-blinded randomized clinical trial to investigate the effectiveness of using cooled radiofrequency ablation (CRFA) for the treatment of osteoarthritis (OA) hip pain and function in subjects treated with CRFA compared with standard of care intra-articular steroid injections
The primary objective of this study is to assess the overall safety and general tolerability of extended release triamcinolone acetate (TA-ER/FX006) in patient with rotator cuff disease. The study will enroll 65 patients, aged 40-75 years old, in a longitudinal case series level IV study using extended release triamcinolone to treat shoulder pain from rotator cuff disease. Inclusion criteria will be shoulder pain without a history of trauma and physical exam consistent with rotator cuff tendinitis, impingement syndrome or rotator cuff tear.
Interferential Current Therapy (IFC) is a form of electrical therapy that utilizes two simultaneous low frequency electrical stimulation which when they cross interfere with one another resulting in an interference or beat frequency. This beat frequency provides a therapeutic area of relief by blocking painful stimuli at the area of interest. IFC is different from the other electrical treatment modalities used because the cancellation effect allows for establishment of the treatment area to be in the deeper tissues of the body, whereas other electrical modalities can only be used to treat superficial body parts that lie just under...
This study will compare shoulder range of motion assessment using the Kinect motion tracking system vs goniometer in patients with adhesive capsulitis (frozen shoulder) undergoing ultrasound-guided capsular distention procedures (standard of care). The investigators hypothesize that, for shoulder adhesive capsulitis, the Kinect Motion Analysis 2.0 system will provide reliable results in a shorter and more efficient amount of time in comparison to traditional goniometer methods.
The purpose of this study is to determine if music therapy during interventional lumbar medial branch blocks for chronic lower back pain will lower pain scores and anxiety levels, while increasing patient desire for repeat procedure as well as patient satisfaction.
The purpose of this study is to determine whether use of a pressure-detecting shoe improve can enhance favorable loading conditions at the knee.
Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic autoimmune, inflammatory disease and musculoskeletal pain is one of the most common symptoms. This study will investigate whether transcutaneous stimulation of the vagus nerve will decrease lupus musculoskeletal pain. This study will additionally investigate the biologic effects of vagus nerve stimulation on inflammation. It will be the first clinical study using one of the body's own pathways of modulating the immune system and inflammatory response, the cholinergic anti-inflammatory pathway, in SLE.
MRI has been shown to be helpful in identifying patients who present with undifferentiated inflammatory arthritis who will develop RA within a one year follow up period. The absence of other clinically apparent symptoms often causes delays in diagnosis of RA. The use of the MRI in conjunction with the physical examination has the potential to reduce diagnostic delay. Earlier diagnosis would allow for earlier treatment implementation for better patient outcomes.
Background: Uveitis is a serious eye disease that can cause vision loss. Treatment sometimes causes serious side effects or does not work. Researchers want to learn more about uveitis and why some people develop it. Objective: To learn clinical and genetic factors that may make people develop uveitis and influence how they respond to treatment. Eligibility: People ages 8 and older who have uveitis, scleritis, inflammatory eye disease, or a disease related to eye inflammation INCLUSION CRITERIA FOR COVID-19 COHORT: Participants with COVID-19 will be eligible if they: 1. Have a...
