Reparel Knee Sleeve vs. TED Hose for Post-op Swelling, Pain and Range of Motion After Total Knee Replacement
This prospective study will evaluate pain, swelling, ROM as well as narcotic use in post-operative total knee arthroplasty patients using novel Non-Compressive Bioactive Garment (NCBG) versus current standard of care gradient compression stocking (Thrombo-Embolic-Deterrent or TED hose). If NCBG proves to be more effective in these outcome areas, it will provide a new and comfortable way to reduce patient pain and swelling immediately following surgery

Repository of Novel Analytes Leading to Autoimmune, Inflammatory and Diabetic Nephropathies (RENAL AID)
A central goal of this data repository is to collect data from a large population of subjects with a variety of renal disease states. Cohorts will include subjects with diabetes, inflammatory/autoimmune and transplant related renal conditions. Additionally, the repository will have the capacity to store biospecimens and electronic data in control subjects without established renal disease. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the basis for three widely held fundamental tenets about surgical intervention for thumb basal joint arthritis; 1. Trapeziectomy with ligament reconstruction and metacarpal stabilization is associated with superior functional outcomes and strength, 2. Preservation of the arthroplasty space correlates with functional outcomes, pain relief, and restoration of strength after basal joint arthroplasty, and 3. Return to Golf After Orthopaedic Surgery
The GOLF study is a multicenter, prospective study with the goal to investigate golfers' return to the sport following hip, knee or shoulder arthroplasty. The prevalence of return to golf, by level of returning to golf will be assessed at 6 weeks, 3 months, 6 months, and 12 months postoperatively. Patients who are active golfers undergoing joint replacement will be identified from outpatient clinics and pre-assessment clinics and given information about the study at least two weeks prior to surgery. Rheumatoid Arthritis Patients at Risk for Interstitial Lung Disease
The overall goal of this study is to define the phenotype of Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD), and identify factors that predict radiologic progression in those with subclinical RA-ILD, in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). The investigators hypothesize that there are common core elements (e.g. clinical features, genetic variants, and/or biologic markers) between other forms of ILD (e.g. idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, IPF) and subclinical RA-ILD that places individuals at risk for the development of lung disease.

Shared decision making is the first overarching principle for the treat to target guidelines for rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and has been proposed as a potential mechanism to reduce health disparities, however there is little evidence to inform effective ways to implement this practice in the care of Veterans with RA.
