The purpose of this study is to evaluate safety, drug levels and drug effects on cells and organs of the body, after receiving multiple increasing doses of BMS-986326 via intravenous (IV) infusion or subcutaneous (SC) injection, in participants with different forms of lupus.
In this study, researchers will learn more about a study drug called litifilimab (BIIB059) in participants with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). The study will focus on participants who have active disease and are already taking standard of care medications. These may include antimalarials, steroids, and immunosuppressants. The main objective of the study is to learn about the effect litifilimab has on lowering the activity of the disease. The main question researchers want to answer is: - How many participants have an improvement in their symptoms after 52 weeks of treatment? Researchers will answer this and other questions...
The purpose of this study is to learn about the effects, safety and how PF-06823859 is processed in adults with cutaneous lupus erythematosus (CLE) or systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) showing some skin symptoms. This study is seeking for participants who: - are adults of 18 years of age or older. - are confirmed to have CLE or SLE with involvement of the skin. - have a Cutaneous Lupus Erythematosus Disease Area and Severity Index activity (CLASI-A) score of at least 8. About 48 participants will be selected to receive active study medicine (PF-06823859) or placebo (an infusion without drug)....
The purpose of the study is to understand how the study medicine PF-06823859 works in people with idiopathic inflammatory myopathies (DM and PM). These disorders cause inflammation that weakens the muscles that are important for movement and may also cause skin rash in people with DM. This study is seeking participants who: - Are 18 years of age or older. - Have active DM or active PM. - Are receiving a stable dose of 1 corticosteroid taken by mouth and/or 1 traditional immunosuppressant. - Note: Corticosteroids and immunosuppressants are medicines that help reduce ...
Hypothesis: SLE and RA increase risk of myocardial infarction (MI, heart attack). Immune reactants in the circulation of SLE patients downregulate cholesterol efflux proteins 27-hydroxylase and ABCA1 and upregulate scavenger receptor CD36, thus encouraging cholesterol accumulation. Adenosine A2A receptor agonist or statin treatment of cells exposed to SLE plasma (or immune complexes or cytokine-enriched plasma fractions from SLE patients) may ameliorate inflammatory properties of their plasma, lessening its atherogenic potency. Rationale: SLE and RA plasma contain components not present in significant levels in normal plasma that...
The study consists of 24-week double-blind trial to evaluate the non-inferiority of the efficacy and safety of pegloticase Q4W with MTX versus pegloticase Q2W with MTX, followed by a 24-week open-label extension of pegloticase Q4W with MTX, in participants with uncontrolled refractory gout. The main objective of the study is to evaluate the effect of pegloticase 16 mg administered Q4W with MTX versus pegloticase 8 mg administered Q2W with MTX, on the response rate during Month 6, as measured by the sustained normalization of sUA to < 6 mg/dL for at least 80% of the time.
Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS) is a connective tissue disorder characterized by hyperextensible skin, joint hypermobility and additional connective tissue manifestations. For unclear reasons, hEDS is associated with many gastrointestinal (GI) and autonomic nervous system (ANS) complaints such as postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS). This study will address the clinical relationship between hEDS/Hypermobile Spectrum Disorders and autonomic regulation and see if there is a benefit of two forms of non-invasive vagal nerve stimulation therapies to reduce GI symptoms in hEDS and POTS. The study will also investigate ...
This is an exploratory natural history protocol that will enroll patients with known genetic diseases, such as VEXAS syndrome, or as yet undiagnosed disorders of inflammation with the goal of improving our understanding of disease processes. Blood, saliva, hair, nail, or buccal samples may be collected for genetic analysis, blood samples will be obtained for immunologic and other functional studies, and a small number of subjects may undergo skin biopsy.
The goal of this project is to critically evaluate the effectiveness of using an online program to improve diet and self-care in patients with multiple sclerosis (MS), clinically isolated syndrome (CIS), fibromyalgia, and post acute sequela of covid
Autoinflammatory diseases (AID) are clinical entities characterized by recurrent inflammatory attacks in absence of infection, neoplasm or deregulation of the adaptive immune system. Among them, hereditary periodic syndromes, also known as monogenic AID, represent the prototype of this disease group, caused by mutations in genes involved in the regulation of innate immunity, inflammation and cell death. Based on recent experimental acquisitions in the field of monogenic AID, several immunologic disorders have been reclassified as polygenic/multifactorial AID, sharing pathogenetic and clinical features with hereditary periodic fevers....
