This project examines, in chronic pain, the mechanisms of immersive virtual reality compared to the mechanisms of placebo hypoalgesia. The potential of developing new non-pharmacological premises for low-risk interventions for pain management is high.
A prospective, double blinded, multi-center study to assess the validity and clinical utility of the pre-operative NOCISCAN-LS software in the identification of painful lumbar discs, and the correlation with improved surgical outcomes at 3, 6, 12 and 24 months (follow-up) following spine surgery in a single enrollment arm of subjects with chronic symptomatic single level degenerative disc disease (DDD) at L3 to S1, but with two evaluation groups- Match Group and Miss Group,of subjects based on the association between the NOCISCORE results of treated and untreated disc levels.
This study aims to investigate the effects of conditioning with open-label placebos on standard postoperative treatment for patients undergoing surgery for idiopathic scoliosis in a randomized controlled, 6-week trial with 64 AIS patients randomly assigned to one of two arms: Open-label Placebo (COLP) + treatment as usual TAU / TAU control. The study involves collecting data from your child's medical record. At each regular clinic visit, the patient clinical data will be collected by the research coordinator. Surveys will be collected including:• PROMIS for the age group 10 to 18 years.
The goal of this clinical trial is to assess if concomitant open pectoralis minor release would improve pain and outcomes after Reverse Shoulder Arthroplasty (RSA). The main questions it aims to answer are: - whether releasing the pectoralis minor prophylactically could have better pain relief - whether releasing the pectoralis minor prophylactically could have increased Range of motion (ROM) outcomes - whether releasing the pectoralis minor prophylactically could have higher final Patient Reported Outcome Measurements (PROMs) Participants will be randomized to either undergo RSA with pectoralis...
This study will involve the collection of follow-up data for patients who previously participated in the Sjogren's International Clinical Collaborative Alliance (SICCA) study at the University of Pennsylvania. Clinical data and specimens will be collected from subjects with objective evidence of dry eye who were or were not diagnosed with Sjogren's syndrome at the time of their initial participation in the SICCA study. Specimens will be collected from participants which will include tears, saliva, whole blood, serum, DNA and possible labial minor salivary gland biopsies when indicated. All individuals will participate in a standard ...
In this work the investigators will study the relationship between chronic musculoskeletal pain and abnormal blood flow (neovascularity) around the shoulder, hip and knee. Veterans with as history of chronic shoulder, hip or knee pain and mild/moderate joint degenerative changes will be potential study subjects. Blood flow around joints will be evaluated using perfusion magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Participants with demonstrably abnormal blood flow around their painful joint will be eligible for enrollment in a pilot study of joint embolization to treat their pain. Participants who choose to not undergo treatment will be ...
The purpose of this study is to learn more about how adult and children's bodies use etanercept and how bodyweight influences how well etanercept works. This study will help us understand the proper dose of etanercept in obese children and adults.
This Phase 1b basket trial will investigate the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, immunogenicity and preliminary efficacy of RAY121, a inhibitor of classical complement pathway, after multiple dose administration in patients with immunological diseases such as antiphospholipid syndrome (APS), bullous pemphigoid (BP), Behçet's Syndrome (BS), dermatomyositis (DM), immune-mediated necrotizing myopathy (IMNM) and immune thrombocytopenia (ITP).
The goal of this clinical trial is to test efficacy of different investigational products (IPs) compared with placebo on the change from baseline to the end of the treatment period at Week 52 in lung capacity in participants with Interstitial Lung Disease Secondary to Systemic Sclerosis.
This is a phase IV post-marketing study for MagnetOs Putty. MagnetOs Putty is a synthetic bone graft extender product that is routinely used by surgeons as a treatment for patients with degenerative disc disease or spinal trauma undergoing spinal fusion surgery. In this study, MagnetOs Putty will be used according to the latest U.S. Instructions For Use, specifically as a bone graft extender mixed with autograft in a 1:1 vol.% in the posterolateral spine.
