The investigators aim to perform a prospective study to evaluate the effectiveness of blind corticosteroid injections to US-guided injections for the treatment of de Quervain's disease. The results of the study will be used to validate current injection protocols or support the incorporation of ultrasonography to treat the disease.
This comparative treatment study aims to challenge a current clinical practice. Specifically, whether the use of ultrasound-guided peripheral intravenous catheter insertion results in lower post insertion failure rates with longer utility time compared to peripheral intravenous catheters (PIVC) inserted in the standard manner during the emergency department (ED), observation and in-patient stay. There are two secondary aims to the study: a) determining if ultrasound-guided peripheral intravenous catheter insertion results in lower post removal complication rates compared to PIVCs inserted in the standard manner; and b) determining if...
The research objective is to demonstrate safety and efficacy of spleen ultrasound stimulation in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) in a blinded and randomized controlled trial. Specific Aims include: - Measure RA disease activity and functional metrics during and after a 2- week course of spleen-directed daily ultrasound treatments (within-arm and between-arm assessments); and - Monitor adverse events during and after daily ultrasound treatments.
Osteoarthritis (OA) represents a significant cause of disability worldwide and the knee is the most commonly affected joint. Oxytocin (OT) is a mediator of endogenous analgesia in animal and human studies. This proposal will test the efficacy and safety of self-administered intranasal OT over 4-weeks in older individuals relative to placebo (P) evaluating its effects on pain and function in aging and testing potential underlying neurobiological mechanisms.
The purpose of this study is to measure arterial 99mTc-Tilmanocept uptake using single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT/CT) scanning in HIV infected subjects known to have subclinical coronary atherosclerosis as assessed by contrast-enhanced coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA).
This is a Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) study. The purpose of this research study is to determine in RA flare, whether musculoskeletal ultrasound (MSUS) inflammatory scores and/or disease activity scores improve with Acthar treatment.
The purpose of this study is to determine the clinical efficacy of a novel dynamic compression intramedullary nail for tibiotalocalcaneal (TTC) arthrodesis.
This study will investigate if mindfulness training via a smartphone mobile app is effective in improving OA-related knee pain.
The purpose of this study is to allow patients to undergo surgery with the SR™ MCP (Metacarpophalangeal) Implants for finger arthritis. This is NOT a research study, but rather, a requirement by the FDA for humanitarian use of device.
This will be a multi-center, prospective, single-blinded randomized clinical trial to investigate the effectiveness of using cooled radiofrequency ablation (CRFA) for the treatment of osteoarthritis (OA) hip pain and function in subjects treated with CRFA compared with standard of care intra-articular steroid injections
